Looks like he dislocated his shoulder going for a spectacular catch. If so, will be out for a couple of months. It's his bowling arm.

I watched an Aussie rugby player dislocate his shoulder at Kingston Park in a Wallabies tour match against Gosforth (as Newcastle Falcons were then called) when I was a lad. The referee put his shoulder back in for him, on the pitch, and the player concerned carried on playing as if nothing had happened. I still remember the crack, the howl of pain, and the collective sharp intake of breath from the crowd

Stokes flew through the air reach high above him almost took what would have been an amazing catch and fell very heavily on his right shoulder. then lay on his back kicking his heels against the ground in obvious agony. If there are degrees of dislocation I suspect this would be at the highest.

Is that the caring attitude we can expect from a NHS nurse these days. I thought it was the cool hand on fevered brow type nursing we could expect.

It is the length that Anderson bowled which was great to see. Lovely teasing length, twinned with probing line outside off. His control in this series has simply been amazing. I felt Broad was a touch short in the first two Tests. Adjusted to the conditions much better today.

And remember Michael Vaughan wanted Anderson to be picked based on conditions.

And to think we were worried about this being another bowling graveyard.

Root is the new KP, slightly less destructive but more consistent.
