I thought these were harmless comments, and obviously not serious, and of course my comments about NZ and the NHS were related to the news stories about people from overseas being told they have to pay for emergency treatment, and were satirical. I've annoyed two people and possibly more, and I can see you have a point, in regard to misplaced flippancy. He's a player I've offered support to, when being serious, and many posters have joked about his injury sustained in the WI without censure. When injuries are self-inflicted as in lockergate you deserve any ridicule that comes your way but I wouldn't be surprised if Ben, or more likely his family,isn't an occasional visitor to this forum particularly as the Durham thread is so active.Doubt your comment would bother Ben but it may well his family at home. For such a tough character, his immediate reaction after his fall and his reported despondency in the dressing room at close of play suggests he fears a serious injury.

he has seen our batsmen play spin, i would say he is a realist

especially given how slow the outfield is, there 230 is really a 275 and on this pitch for england 200 is probably gonna be a struggle

Out of interest, did you get your sense of humour bypass on the NHS or did you have to pay for it private?

Humour can be sometimes misplaced and ill-timed as it was on this occasion imo. No big deal -merely an opinion.
I've said "I'll never watch Sunderland again" countless times in my life but sadly never kept to it.
