Somehow don't think Stokes would care for such treatment and will be receiving far more advanced medical care where he is than he would on the NHS. Find it incredible though that some find the situation an opportunity for humour when as yet we can't be certain that he hasn't suffered a career threatening injury.

Out of interest, did you get your sense of humour bypass on the NHS or did you have to pay for it private?

I think this even more OTT than my drunken "ill never watch rugby again" from last month.

Humour can be sometimes misplaced and ill-timed as it was on this occasion imo. No big deal -merely an opinion.
I've said "I'll never watch Sunderland again" countless times in my life but sadly never kept to it.

You should really listen to your own advice about Sunderland.

The collapse has started, all out by tea. Pakistan will have a first innings lead.

Agree but it's proof that I've got a sense of humour.

Lawrence Booth has tweeted that he is still a couple of hours away from his scan, so if Pakistan get get a roll on here they only need 9 as Stokes is at hospital.

To be fair though, not sure its fair to ask an injured player to pad up regardless of the match situation

No need for him to bat in the 1st innings as there's no follow on to avoid. Only situation is if we need a few to win with 9 down as the draw is no use-extremely unlikely as it is.
