Easy to micro criticize, but Bell stayed out there for 160 odd balls, which is good. The first thing I want an off form player to do is score runs or bat time by any means possible.... it was ugly, but he showed fight. That in a way is a question mark answered for me, showing fight and desire.

I read a journo saying that when Ballance went back to Yorks, he was told to work on his method (the big step back into the crease) and he wouldn't. Which suggests he won't be back this winter.

Definitely not in South Africa going by the way he played the short ball. That series could be a career-ender for him if he goes there.
