He did last test for his first 50 -70 runs. Tbf to him, this is the right type of pitch to have a go and get the bowlers on the back foot. He has rode his luck, but now the bowlers are starting to spray it around a little, and Root is also cashing in.

If he stays there another hour, then it could win England the match.
