Looking at spinners between 1990-2010 against India, Murali took 97 wickets at 33 in 22 games, at under three an over. That's a substantial record and a pretty good one. Arjanth Mendis has a superb record of 28 wickets in 4 games at 22, though Ganguly will have been long gone by then. Saqlain and Adams did well in not many games. A few finger spinners were economical, notably Ray Price, Nicky Boje and our own Ashley Giles. And there were the crazy stats, like Krejza's twelve wickets in a game that ended his career, and freak spells from Michael Clarke and Shaun Udal.
I always say that everybody's right.
