No surprise to me that Newcastle lost again. the only surprise is that they scored a goal. Swansea and Bournmouth now have an 8 point cushion with 9 matches to go, and it's 3 to go down from 4 teams.
My prediction............ whoever loses the NE derby (newcastle, btw) will go down with Villa and Norwich... if it's a draw both will go down with Villa
According to The Telegraph McClaren is going to be sacked and replaced by David Moyes. However it's one of those' bet hedging' stories with references to potential stumbling blocks and the basis for the story seems to be that Moyes has expressed interest before and is highly rated by Mike Ashley - whether that endorsement is good or bad news is a matter of opinion!

not sure why anyone would come to take charge of a team in freefall with no time and no resources to make a difference. Not even much chance of a massive 'keep us up' bonus.
I've heard Benitez mentioned too

Either very good acting for that segment of the programme or he was on the edge of going ballistic. Almost shaking with anger.

I think you were referring to Eric Dier pulling back Giroud by the shirt and not getting a second yellow.

Dier, that was it. Definite second yellow.
