Perfect result for india tomorrow would be to win by 35 runs, wins by 3-4 overs to spare and then watch Pakistan vs Australia.
If pakistan win they probably already qualified before the Australia game.

But then a decent Aus victory over Ind would tip the balance again.

Where they had to score certain amount to qualify even if they lose or bowl a certain overs to qualify.

But with T20 cricket it does make NRR tricky since Australia would only need to chase a total in 16-17 overs to knock india out.

IF India bowl first and they are ahead of Pak in the NRR after tomorrow India would pretty much qualify if Aus lose to Pakistan since then india would only need to chase a lower target than australia set for example if Aus score 160, india may only need 130-140 to qualify.

NRR is quite flawed in T20 cricket so much easier to increase the NRR if batting 2nd, very hard to increase it if you are batting first.

I meant to ask this earlier but what do people think of indias obvious tactic of producing raging turners for their games

Whilst every other game is played on a normal wicket

Not seen anything like this before from the home side in a major tournament

Sample size is too small to make this judgement yet considering the first game was played at nagpur which is always been slow and turning and the 2nd game which was affected by rain.

Also this is the first tournament played in vast extreme pitches.
You get the good pacy, small good batting wicket Mumbai, Banglore and should be Dharamasala and then the slow turners, tough to bat on Kolkata, Delhi and Nagpur.
With Mohali being in the middle.

But saying that if Banglore and Mohali start being slow and taking turn then yes the pitches have been doctored.
Banglore never really turned a huge amount and the wicket has always been great for batting and had good pace for the batsman to time the ball.
Mohali been slow lately since they haven't relaid the pitch for 20 years but even then the pitch doesn't really turn unless it has been doctored.

Anyway India is a huge country with varied wickets and with the tournament being played at 6 grounds at grounds at the north, east, south and west and middle of the country no surprise conditions vary between grounds.

So far the only pitch that has surprised me has been Dharamasala.

surely it cant be coincidence that the only two pitches in the tournament that have turned square have been in games featuring india, the rest of the games the ball hasnt really turned that much then it has ragged square in those two games

im surprised they even tried it again after it backfired on them against new zealand
