Scoring rate going nowhere. NZ have been underrated going into the competition. It was said that the back up bowling to Boult and Southee was weak, the spinners were costly, and they had the feeling of a team slightly over its peak. Different format of course to those in which they gave that impression.

Didn't see much of the game but saw two very poor decisions by the SA umpire, both going against the Bangladesh team. A plumb lbw in the NZ innings which was hitting middle two thirds of the way up, and one that was given against the Bangladesh batsman where the ball was missing leg by six inches. Not good, but neither had much of an impact on the result.
