I won't be betting on them. You'd think City, Utd, and definitely Chelsea will be stronger. Tottenham should be up there still.

Yep, though some think football only started in 1993.

Or football only exists in the Premier League.

Leicester may well not be the only club to achieve against the odds this season. Accrington Stanley are on the verge of promotion to League One, which is a fantastic achievement in itself considering Stanley are relegation favourites every season, often see their best players move on because of a lack of financial muscle but still manage to compete on skeleton resources.

Then there is part time Braintree Town (managed by a PE teacher) of the Conference National in the playoffs after finishing 3rd. Imagine a genuine non-league winning promotion against a league where the majority of clubs operate full time? Almost unheard of in the modern game.

I couldn't give a flying *modded* about the fortunes of other peoples teams, but even I stayed up long enough to see if the title would be decided last night.

It is a bit of a fairytale, despite what SP says.

The really good news.... and, in truth, the only thing that actually matters, is that Spurs can't win the the title and can't not make the Champs Lge, so they'll have absolutely nothing to play for on the last day of the season when Newcastle will have to win to have any chance of survival.

and I've found out that the Spurs players suffered a meltdown and got themselves all booked. Dembele almost certain to join Thingy Alli on the banned list for the Newcastle game.

With all these positive vibes, all these things starting to stack up in their favour, Newcastle will probably lose to Villa on Sat ........ not sure if Newcastle have won an away game all season, so I suppose victory is far from the formality it ought to be against the worst team in the league, with the worst defence and who are in utter turmoil

The most obvious example you forgot about, and that is Burton. Barring a four goal swing over Walsall with them losing they are in the Championship, which considering in 2000-01 they were playing in the Southern Football League in tier 8 of the Footballing pyramid, this is something incredible that goes unnoticed. They will get promoted with a team that recently won the FA cup after essentially playing Park football under 15 years ago.

Its literally not much away from a power league team making it big in a decade and a half. :clap

I think Leicester's success lies not in individual play, but rather that so many players pulled together as a team, and did well...players like Vardy, Mahrez, Drinkwater, Kante, Morgan, Huth, Simpson and Schmeichel.
Nobody has a stance quite like the mighty Shivnarine....

Not sure how I missed out Burton Albion, their meteoric rise based on man management with little financial outlay is something else.

Northern/Southern Premier League was Tier 6 back in 2000, though only league winners could win promotion. Depending on regional league structure, Park Football might have been as high as Tier 9 or 10.

EIther way it's an achievement which has rarely got the plaudits on a national scale, I would love to know their wage budget for this season and I believe their transfer record for a player is £20,000. If the boardroom can recognise three good managers from their Conference days (Nigel Clough, Gary Rowett, Jimmy Flloyd Hasselbaink) then they must be doing something right. Here's hoping come Sunday at 2.30pm it happens.

3 game bans each for Huth and Fellaini.

Fellaini will be ok to play in the FA Cup final.

Dembele could get a 10 game ban for eye gouging, and rightly so.

Have to have a small amount of sympathy as it was Costa he nearly gouged, and did you see the way Costa had hold of Dembele's back, squeezing the skin in his fist.

It's the way Costa works, he underhandedly works on people to get them to retaliate, and we all know that retaliators are invariably the ones that get the biggest punishment. And don't forget he nearly bit Gareth Barry on the neck a few weeks ago, but pulled out at the last moment. Nasty piece of work.
