Really out of there depth in this series. England now into the tail, and Woakes has 3 wickets.

SRL have lost Dilly, Sanga and Mahela in last two years. Subsequently it will take them few years to get stability in batting lineup. Sanga who performed in all conditions is the most difficult player for them to replace imo.

I think captain should consider how many matches / series they have lined up in near future. 4 of the bowling attack are pace bowlers. Better to give them some rest. The result is anyways going to be same (England win) whether follow on is enforced or not, so why not let the pace bowlers rest even if they have not bowled 14 overs each in this innings.

Indeed. Its amazing how far SL have slipped with the loss of some great players.

The odds on them replacing any of murali, vaas, mahela or sang are low

True with tours to Bangladesh and India on the horizon mooen needs to bowl as much as he can

If this match position / scorecard was in Indian conditions with 3 specialist spinner who are capable of bowling 30+ overs per innings without any chance of finger tiredness due to workload then follow on should not be given. But for England only Moeen is a spinner and maybe one spell of 4 overs by Joe. But i doubt Cook will bowl them in tandem for 8 overs each in such conditions.

Cook also may look to bat again and get in form as he is not in good form at international level
