thank goodness he's the best striker in European football.

Martin O'Neill described him as the most over-hyped player he'd ever seen when he was commentating on the Euro's or WC a few years ago. I agreed with him then, and I'm pleased to see that he hasn't improved any.

Need to score though. They're not going to win the game if Italy go 1-0 up, and at some point Italy will get a chance.

Going to be from a set piece you would think. Brady has a wicked left foot.

Good header of the ball n all.

it does... thank goodness England didn't get in that half of the draw by scoring a goal against a team that didn't want to play football.

that won't come back to bite them

Quarter of the teams left from the British isles.

Scotland might be feeling left out.

at least the home nations will have one representative in the QF's

long time since that's happened

I reckon that by the time Wales go through to the QF's, Gareth Bale will have scored more goals than the entire England team

The big boys in the bottom/right half. The boys who rely on their big player(s) in the top/left half.

Although only slight, there is probably more of a chance of Ireland upsetting France than Hungary upsetting Belgium. So who knows, we could yet be in the better half. (Playing Iceland vs playing NI really shouldn't make any difference).

I fell asleep and missed the end. So, revenge against the French.

Do we have the winner of that match, if we beat Iceland.

With two teams from Ireland joining Wales and England in the last 16 this surely means that, (apart from that bit at the top of England), the British Iles are the dominant force in European football.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Perhaps it was planned like this because of the referendum!

Three games Saturday and Sunday in view of the weekend and two on Monday, with us providing the last game of the last 16.

His joy was at the thought of playing England rather than a good team.
