Fonte is 10 minutes away from the only person in history to have won both the European Championships and the Football League Trophy.

Eder was awful for Swansea!

Well done to Portugal. Ugly at times, but they defended well, and were aided by some poor French finishing.

Caps off a shite tournament. Didn't bother watching the second half or extra time, and only just remembered to check the score.

The Portuguese are passionate about their football.

Very pleased for all my Portuguese friends in the Algarve. It will be very noisy down there!

I actually went to watch the game with a friend at a local Portuguese run cafe last night, as he lives near it and said it was packed at 2pm yesterday and we could get a bit of atmosphere. Needless to say at the final whistle it was pretty crazy.

Despite my surroundings I wanted France to win..... 1 win in 7 for Portugal..... makes a mockery of the new 3rd place format really.

As for the Portugal win....

I see that the articles about Ronaldo being the hero are aplenty..... its almost like people forget apart from the Hungary game, he has missed chances a plenty in every game, and wasnt even playing last night.

In fact, had it been any other tournament, the 25 odd chances to score he missed in the groups would have knocked them out.

Ronaldo wasnt even in the top 5 Portuguese performers this tournament.... even Nani played better, and thats saying something!

His header vs Wales was frickin awesome.

Portugal winning it sort of summed up the tournament. Most games were tense affairs, with teams being too afraid to lose.
