Next England Manager

The beautiful game!

Who bloody cares, we'll still be shite no matter who gets it. People have to accept we're done at international level, nothing will change for the better, so no point in getting our hopes up or being disappointed with the eventual choice.

Took what critics said was one of the worst German teams in their history, and got them to semi's in 2006. That game against Italy in the semi's, which was won by two absolute belter goals from Italy in extra time, could have gone either way. It won him massive respect in Germany.

In retrospect, his time at Bayern is also credited now as a time when he in a short time shaped the club in a dramatically positive way for the future, even though in the short time there he failed to ignite the team.... much of the ground work he made with the youth setup has since produced players that had done things, and its accepted he did a really good job.

And he got USA into a proper international force in recent years.

I do like some of the press you can find in support of big Sam mind.....

"Sam is a master at winning games"...... never had more than a 40% win percentage of any team he managed in the Premier League. Clearly master levels.

"Sam masterminded Sunderland's escape"...... He took the 7th best financed team in the Premier LEague in the last 5 years, and took them to 17th..... Mick McCarthy, Roy Keane, Martin O Neill and Gus Poyet all had better records at the club.

West Ham apparently are the 7th best funded team in the Premier League in the last 5 years...... he didnt get past tenth, and I believe they were lower table just above relegation most of the time her was there. Bilic has acheived more in one year.

He scrapped keeping Sunderland up despite some poor funded teams staying above.... a feat that basically all of their managers recently have achieved.

He spunked mega money at Newcastle on a load of shite and got sacked after half a year

He took a top 6 Blackburn team and turned them into a Championship side with no fans in 2 years.... and blamed Steve Kean for it, despite Kean inheriting a ship already at the bottom of the ocean

He basically dined out on Bolton for all of eternity....

Rumours of Allardyce and Howe as number two on a part time basis.

Can't see him going for that, Premiership management is a full time job, plus Allardyce's number two, a very unattractive proposition.

I've heard that he thinks it's way too early for him but maybe the FA are trying to sugar coat the role so he accepts.

Probably all paper speculation, the FA are interviewing a number of people and when it's your turn you get touted in the media for the job.

Tell them to shove it politely, as poisoned a chalice as it's ever been with a bunch of ignorant dinosaurs as your bosses.

Keegan tried to manage England and Fulham at the same time and couldn't do it.

I can't see how the two roles can be done anyway. Sam would get resentment at Sunderland from players who might think they should play for England but he doesn't.

Anyway it's all too early to speculate. FA may not even feel Sam is England manager material after speaking to him.
