Surprised he didn't mention it, unless he only just found out today.

I suspect he won't be selected anytime soon.

Ticket prices are quite cheap or decent for england test as well, ticket around £30-40, loads of discount for family as well.
probably dependent on walk up sales now.

Selvey had become contaminated by his affiliations. His lurking menace below the line made the Guardian a bit of an unpleasant place to be. And he's told his stories once too many times. He was a good reporter and a great commentator once.

Maybe he's lost his job for reasons other than cricket, may have been an ardent Brexit supporter and gloated at the referendum result jut once too often. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.
Wow - this article actually criticizes Cook, however gently, the sprinkler dance and potentially, gasp, even the ECB's possible lack of logic. Too little too late? Is it true Selvey has been sacked?
I agree with the posters above, that Selvey's genuine cricketing acumen and insights, especially with regard to fast bowling, were a cut above most of the other cricketer-journos.
Sadly, his legacy will remain tainted by the whole KP saga where Selvey seemed unable to be balanced about the role of the ECB and Cook in that fiasco.
Having said that, as a long time critic of Selvey's more politically oriented articles, I'm going to miss reading his articles here in my own way.
Goodbye Mr. Selvey. I assume we'll see you crop up at Cricinfo or some other website sometime soon. You'll probably have to learn that, because the Internet cuts across borders, you can't be as anglo-centric in your worldview if you do migrate to a more global site. Good luck.
