true not many test have had the 300 in a day type chases but when they have been games have gotten really tight or close.
Australia nearly lost
SA nearly lost
India nearly won in Adelaide
many other examples.
really I wouldn't declare needing 300 to win to much at stake and little to gain.
India ridiculously didnt win in wi 5 yrs ago they need 120 to win in 30 overs and didn't go for it.

england nearly chased 280 odd against SA in 2012 at lords.

really setting 300 on a day is a risky business especially since a lot of those targets were 350 in a day stuff.
