All India have to do is leave a lush green outfield and there won't be reverse swing, is they did last time. England got reverse for a short while in the third Test, but mostly were pretty toothless.

The Independent is reporting Vince had a dislocated finger and is unlikely to be fit for the Oval. I reckon push Moeen up to 4 and bring in another spinner. The Oval is turning quite a lot if the wickets taken are a indication. Time for Asari methinks.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

wonder if england will go with a pace heavy attack in india and try to get wickets by reverse swing and not spin.

Could well be 2 spinners and 4 seamers

Unless one of stokes or woakes doesn't play

yep they probably do that I know rich is against the idea, but It might be the best way to go about it and not sure if england got another batsman to replace/vince/bairstow so they might as well play 6 bowlers and have bowlers that provide control and attack at the same time.
spinners bowl till the ball reverse and the pace men get unleashed and at the same time some pace men provide control.

but only works if the ball reverses and all 4 pace men bowl at a world class level.
Stokes will probably be let down alongside the spinners.

but the batting going to very weak, even if they bat till 8 or 9.
but it probably be the best team challenging india the most in india, will certainly be the best bowling attack they can come up with and then hope batting gets a score and does a bit of pakistan here and get a score in most of the test matches.

We are fortunate that moeen, Stokes, woakes and rashid are all capable of making test hundreds

bit different expecting the batting as a whole to score runs.
Reckon Aussies fans were expecting Australia to score runs in sri lanka.
Warner, Smith, khawaja, Burns etc all average 50 or something.
Voges was the next bradman.

The most postive *modded* you getting out of me is that will be the best team challenging india in india.

Can imagine November/December going to be fun here.

england could have the best batting line up they could find in england but if they can't play spin or handle the conditions they won't score runs, surely Australia plight in Sri lanka will be prove enough.

Why don't you make a big effort and try to say something positive about England. We have beaten India on the last three occasions we've played them and just maybe we'll find a way to do it again.

weirdly enough that is the most positive stuff coming out from my mouth for that series.
Reckon english folk still don't believe how hard batting going to be in November/December.
Think you lot should be prepared, is not like england didn't get any warning.
Having a weak or fragile batting order shouldn't mean you can't win games, Pakistan already won one game in England and lead in another one for 2 and half days.

think the outfield are mostly lush anyway now.
can't remember many with dry outfields.
they tend to water the outfield a lot now, so it is good for fielding, but that could change if india has a drought again, during the ipl watering the pitches were banned or reduced and games got moved out of one state.

The bowlers should still get reverse swing if they are good enough to get it since the wicket will be very dry, also they may also like it when the ball reverses since the wickets are more bouncier/pacier than the old indian wickets so they could enjoy when the ball reverses, but they have to make the ball reverse first.

Joe Burn averages 41
Warner 48
Usman Khawaja 44
Steve Smith 58
Voges 79

And let have a look at the sri lanka averages.

K Silva 29
D karunrate 32
guess you get the drift now, can anyone remind me again which team were an embarrassment with the bat again.

Not sure what england stats or do in England in first class or test have any bearing what so ever in india lol.

Don't see anything wrong with my statement of saying bat deep but have a weak batting line up.
They bloody only have 3 secure batsman in the top 7 lol.
