Luton v Aston Villa the pick of the ties

Though Blackpool v Bolton looks a decent tie on paper, despite the two clubs recent declines and Bristol Rovers v Cardiff appears to be a feisty affair. Grimsby Town are nicely rewarded with a plum away match at Derby, I'm sure Nottingham Forest fans will travel in numbers to Doncaster.

Forest have put a pretty strong team against Doncaster this evening. Or maybe its just that we have a bit of depth in our team at present and it will only be a matter of time until injuries catch up with us.

Forest manager wants Europa League football

Fair play to him, the opportunity is there as Premier League teams are more interested in preserving top flight status than chasing silverware and Europa League glory.

All seven Yorkshire based teams who have played in League Cup tonight have bowed out.

This just leaves Leeds (who play tomorrow), Hull and Middlesbrough representing the White Rose.

It is great that the club is taking this cup seriously, we always used to. For too long Forest have have put out week teams in cups in hoping that the league form would improve. It got us no where. A good long run in a cup would be great, Forest is due one.

Wycombe go out early. Not worried, as I am very worried about the league this season.

I don't believe in this "concentrate on the league" cliche, a good cup run not only gives a form boost to players but improves the clubs fortunes improve on and off the pitch.
