I dont want to curse him, but Id be tempted to move Woakes up the order higher. He just looks a lot better than some of England's top order to thisi type of bowling.

Balls pitching on middle, Stokes looks so assured, but those that drift into his legs, he looks hopeless

Any particular reason for that.
his batting been weird at times in the first 2 test.
looks assured and hopeless at the same time.

Simply what hes comfortable with. He doesnt move the feet much, he wants to stand tall and work the off spin into the offside and be in the position to hit the shorter ball to the boundary, but the straighter balls he just stabs at them.

Ah ok felt at times he used his power to disturb the spinners line and length and feast from the bad balls that he gets.
doesn't look pretty but at least he found a way to score runs.

Looks likes Stoke struggles with Shakib.

Well I think there is two ways to play here.

Use your feet and smother, or stand tall and read it off the pitch.

England's batsman cant do the former, as shown by tht drop. Its a lottery everytime they come forward
