TBH they only need to look at ashwin at Rajkot and 2012 series that Ashwin does lose patience and will start giving bad balls away although admittedly it will be far longer to reach that stage but it is possible especially on the docile wicket so far in this series.
England can't say Ashwin and Jadeja spinning it around corners.
At the moment Ashwin and Jadeja having it too easy.

I think Ashwin is a better bowler now than he was in 2012. But yes , I agree a bit of ( or actually a lot of ) patience is what is required . India have made consistent over 400 scores through being prepared to weather tight periods of bowling and plunder the looser spells...England should at least attempt to emulate that approach.

there's a fine line tho between weathering the storm and just getting completely bogged down and we tend to go more towards the latter imo

maybe it is just down to the difference in the quality of spinners but when india were struggling to score i still never felt we looked like running through them

when we go out to bat with that defensive mindset its like wickets are just waiting to fall

obviously been a couple of partnerships that have toughed it out but never really loooked comfortable doing so. playing spin well comes down to good footwork and i think we tend to get a bit static when trying to defend against spin and become very vulnerable to changes in length as much as spin itself

Cook is (statistically) one of the best players of spin there's been, and he barely moves his feet and plays it overwhelmingly from the crease. Is it possible that other England players use him as a model, when perhaps for most people that's not the best way

possibly but cook has never really relied on fancy footwork against seam either and is probably an exception to the rule, so trying to copy him might not be a good idea for other people

I know what you mean, but it seems perverse, doesn't it? It's why you can't simply block every ball when there's an accurate spinner bowling, that's a recipe for having five men around the bat. But you can keep things moving and push the field back simply by knocking the ball along the ground into the gaps created by so many close catchers and taking a couple of easy singles each over, which rotates the strike and helps keep the bowlers from settling, rather than always being in the mindset of 'positive cricket'='attack'='boundaries'.
