at the moment the only bright spot for the english fans that will turn up in mumbai in big number is that the series still alive.

Ratings for the cricket in india been very high as well.
Star sports 3 and 1 been the highest watched channel and by a huge margin as well.
and with the cricket matches in Star sports 3 and 1 rating very highly.
looking at the ratings more people are watching the hindi coverage than the english one.

Extra batter is cover if England want to bring in a batter for a spinner. Duckett and Ballance come in for Haseeb and Batty. Plus spare batter. Though the spare wk is in as a batter already, so you could argue they still won't have a spare. They're just playing a keeper ahead of a specialist.

Of course, if Ballance does come in, he quite easily could be batting at eight.

As England are going into the Tests that promise to be the best for spinners, I'm not sure I'm going to give up a spinner now. I'm picking, if Broad is fit:

Cook/Jennings/Root/Duckett/Bairstow/Stokes/Moeen/Dawson/Rashid/Broad(Woakes)/Anderson.
(Batty, Buttler, Ballance, Finn, Ball)
I always say that everybody's right.

Bairstow number 9 in the world.
Hazlewood 5th in the world now.
Shami 19th in the world.
Stokes 21st in the bowling rankings

Not Sure how you can explain players rankings more plus thought Hazlewood being ranked in the top 5 was news even if it is placed in the wrong match thread.
if you want to talk about pointless post surely question marks with no explanation fits the bill.
At least my post involved majority of the players playing in this game.

I understand Broad has joined the Lions in the UAE to speed up his recovery and Woakes is not 100% fit so there maybe trouble ahead. (Courtesy Fred Astaire)
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

Sussexpop going to love this.
But it is understood that Leach has not made an overwhelming impression on the Lions management in the UAE, and is not yet regarded as being ready for international cricket.

looks like leach face doesn't fit in the set up.

Do wonder what aspect the management didn't like considering Lions haven't even played a game yet.
First game starts tomorrow against UAE.

Dobell also suggesting both are Flower picks.

but it might prove slightly at odds with Bayliss' apparently bolder, more positive approach. Nearly three years since he stepped down as head coach, Flower power is still very much alive in English cricket.

Root must be pretty high. Him and Kohli are not only two of the best players in the world, but they're both great to watch. Well they would be if I had sky sports!

off topic I am actually quite surprised how many people here don't have sky sports.
Arthur doesn't you don't, I won't either after next month.
Can't blame it either with Sky sports being expensive now and quite easy to watch cricket for free.
must be a huge factor in the low cricket ratings in the country and the general decline in cricket this decade.

Most people I know do have it.

I doubt the very recent decline in Cricket will have been affected by people not watching. It may do in the future. Who knows? It could possibly be the reverse, with the public not wanting to pay to watch this particular side.

Getting rid of Sky Sports, and all the stuff you have so you can have Sky Sports, has saved me £100 a month. In an endless recession, I imagine a lot of people will make that choice.
