After yesterday's defensive performance it looks like Liverpool will be trying to sign Van Dijk in the January transfer window. Do they actually look anywhere else but Southampton these days?!

After the goalkeeping performance yesterday and Mignolet the only other option, I wouldn't be surprised if they put in a bid for Fraser Forster at the same time. (Obviously overlooking his blunder against Palace)!

Van Dijk must be the most easily accessible top quality performing defender in the league at the moment. Although I have a feeling that a few teams will be going in for him.

It was rumoured for a while that Everton where going to throw some ridiculous cash at him, and then Chelsea have also expressed interest in him for a while.

I never believed that we'd replace Toby with someone better, but we actually did.

The good thing this time, unlike the other players we have previously lost, is that there should be a bidding war this time. Every single big club in the league, with the possible exception of Arsenal (given how much they spent on Mustafi) should be going for him. And it's quite simple really - Man City have set the bar with £42m for Stones. I'd be very disappointed with anything under £50m. Virgil would be a star for Barcelona or Madrid, let alone Liverpool or Everton.

There's no way that we'll sell him in January, that's not how we do business. But I'm certain he'll be sold in the summer. It's been a running joke all season with Saints fans every time we see Liverpool's defence all over the shop, "won't happen next season when they've got Virgil and Fraser in their side". I'd imagine something in the region of £25m would get Forster.

Not sure he is better than the Spurs lads, but we are comparing very similar quality. Personally Id take Toby because he is doing it at a Champions League club. But another year like hes being having, and hes in the very top level of CB. He's been pretty much faultless for Saints recently.

I still laugh that so many teams passed on him. I think it was Norwich and someone like QPR who agreed a fee for Toby when at Ajax, but he said he wanted to go to Liverpool, who tried to negotiate the price down by a few quid and ended up wasting a much bigger quantity of cash on a load of utter shite. So he waited another window and ended up going to Saints, the best team who had actually offered him a deal. I also think Liverpool did the same with Van Dijk.... imagine if they signed both of them now!!

If Borough can get the win, would go a long way to being safe this season. Not sure a draw helps either team, though Hull would take that at present.

Both sides have got to hope that Swansea don't get their act together this season - because if they do, then I can't see either of tonight's sides surviving.

I think Hull will go down, and the little bit of Swansea i have seen i would suggest they will go down as well.

I thought Sunderland were certainties, but once again they look like they will get out. So i would probably put Burnley in the mix as well.
