Wonder if the England v BD series was included. Through no fault of their players, BD play very few games, but the impact of Tamim Iqbal in the series was quite historic for them, and I would have liked him to have got a nod. Looks like that doesn't qualify. Maybe it would look better if they judged Jan-Dec rather than Sep-Sep, as in the qualification period, Adam Voges was a must pick, but now we know better

Maybe, only England's heavy schedule has got them four places in the team. Cook scored his double in UAE in this period, which I pick as his best Test knock, but otherwise he's really struggled. The improvements that came during the disappointing draw in the WI seem to have gone and he's looking as awkward at the crease as ever. Still, for that knock in Abu Dhabi alone, he should be in. Not as skipper though (Misbah, in that period). My side for Jan-Dec:

Azhar/Brathwaite/Root/Kohli/Smith/Dhananjaya/deKock/Ashwin/Starc/Wagner/Herath. Rabada if picking three seamers.

Without checking the stats, I'd be surprised if Younis Khan didn't deserve to be in a Sep-Sep team, but he seems to be the invisible man when awards are handed out.

Adam Voges can't even get in the Australia team now.

Jadeja was in the ODI team of the year even though he scored 45 runs and took 3 wickets over the whole period. :hmmm

TBH England, India players are always favoured anyway when most of the panel are english or indian.
Jadeja inclusion prove for that and Kohli being odi captain as well.

Just read that Ahmad Shahzad is the only player to score hundreds in all three formats. Surprises me.
