Regarding Afghanistan and Ireland becoming Test teams- why not have a few unofficial tests over the next few years to assess their standard rather than just green light it blindly.

The idea is that Test match will be delinked from full member status also why can first class games between Ireland, Afghanistan, Scotland etc not count as test matches.

not biased to india but to subcontinent pitches in general.
Although still funny how people still think overhead conditions plays a part in movement for the bowlers even though it is scientifically proven to play no part what so ever, in ironic terms it is proven scientifically to swing more in humid, hot and cloudless condition.

Getting T20 in the Olympics would be good for the sport (if not popular at the ECB). Maybe that will get back on the table. I've read what might be settled for is a kind of beach cricket. That would be the worst possible outcome. If cricket is going to be exposed to the world, it has to be in the most flattering light possible. T20 is a decent form of the game.

Lets not forget all the moaning the Aussie fans/players and coaches were doing in the last sri lanka tour.
or the good amount of pathetic English fans this winter in india.

This will always remain till vast majority of cricket supporters and players in England and Australia accept that the ball can turn and cricket is played in different condition around the world.
point system for pitches won't work unless all pitches are equally scrutinised and Aussies and english media/fans/players don't act like idiots when the team loses in Spinning conditions.

For me the major news was that ICC will be controlling FTP again but in a reduced manner than last time.
proposal states all teams will have to play everyone excluding zimbabwe once every 2 yrs and each team possibly playing one of Afghanistan, Zimbabwe and ireland once in that 2 yrs.
would mean each team will be guaranteed 4 series each year but that only 4 test matches minimum a yr for the likes of Bangladesh, Sri lanka etc.
although suspect most test series will be 2 or 3 test.
This will all be linked to a test league which will lead to a final every 2 yrs.

Should be interesting to see how it would work since I personally think it would mean way more matches and lots of short tours and travelling.

I thought the problem was advertising while the game is being played, on screen. Everyone shows ads between overs, unfortunately. You'd still see the ads on the outfield and the fence etc though.

not surprised he has gone but surprised by the timing of it

maybe after morgan doing a bit better with the bat in india there wont be the same pressure on him having the test captain playing under him in ODIs

Top man Cooky and received a lot of unfair criticism IMO. It's very easy to captain a side from the armchair with the benefit of hindsight. Certainly can't see anyone in the present side who'd do a better job of captaincy.
