It's worrying how few there are....

It was honours even after the first day of the top-of-the-table sixth round match between Jamaica and Guyana at Sabina Park. Wicketkeeper/opener Chadwick Walton hit 101, but there was not much else, as Jamaica were bowled out for 255 by pacer Keon Joseph, who took 7-53. Guyana were 69 without loss at stumps.

At the bottom-of-the table clash in Grenada, Trinidad reached 250-7 at stumps on Day One. Yannick Cariah made 92 retired hurt, and wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo 59. Medium pacer Kyle Mayers has taken three wickets so far for the Windwards.

The top-of-the-table clash in Kingston was still even stevens at the halfway stage of the match. Opener Shimron Hetmyer topscored with 74, and there were 50s from Chanderpaul father and son (Shiv and Tage), as Guyana posted 262 all out, for a slender seven-run lead on first innings. Spinners Nikita Miller (4-69), Andre McCarthy (3-18) and Damion Jacobs (2-35) did the damage for Jamaica, who were 61-1 at stumps.

Low scores dominated the match at St Georges. Kyle Mayers took 4-24 and debutant Sherman Lewis (3-53) to bowl Trinidad out for 275 on the second day's play. Yannick Cariah topscored with 102 not out, and there were 50s from wicketkeeper Steven Katwaroo and Khary Pierre. Sheldon Cottrell took three wickets, and there were two each for Marlon Richards, Imran Khan and Brian Charles, as they dismissed the Windwards for a paltry 104 all out. Tailender Shane Shillingford topscored with 34. At the close, Trinidad were 23-1.

On the first day's play at Kensington Oval, Barbados posted 302-8, on the back of 63 from Shamarh Brooks, and 40s from Roston Chase, Jonathan Carter and Kevin Stoute. Pacers Alzarri Joseph and Gavin Tonge have taken three wickets each for the Leewards to date.

Low scores once again featured in the regional four-day competition.

On the third day of their top-of-the-table clash at Sabina Park, medium-pacer Raymon Reifer took 5-60 and left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul 3-40 to dismiss Jamaica for a paltry 188 all out in their second innings, Jermaine Blackwood topscoring with 37. Chasing a mere 182 for victory, Guyana were well-placed at stumps on 79-2, but with opening batsman Tagenarine Chanderpaul having also retired hurt.

In Grenada, Trinidad continued to tighten the screws on the Windwards on Day Three, choosing not to enforce the follow-on. Opener Kyle Hope hit 105 not out to lead Trinidad to 203-5 declared, Yannick Cariah chipping in with 47. Set an unlikely 375 to win, the Windwards closed on 68-1.

On the second day of their match in Bridgetown, pacer Alzarri Joseph took 5-42 to dismiss Barbados for 313. But Bajan pacers Kemar Roach (3-29) and Miguel Cummins (3-34) routed the Leewards for a pathetic 163, Nkrumah Bonner the only batsman to offer any resistance with 70. Following on, the Leewards limped to 16-4 at the halfway stage of their game.

Guyana moved to the top of the table, with a comfortable seven-wicket win over Jamaica at Sabina Park. Vishal Singh returned to form with 63 not out, while Shimron Hetmyer chipped in with 47, as Guyana made 184-3 to chase down the unchallenging target.

At Kensington Oval, Barbados completed a crushing innings and 26 runs win over a poor Leewards team with more than a day to spare. Following on, the Leewards were routed for a pathetic 124 all out by pacer Kemar Roach, who took 4-18. Kacey Carty played a lone hand with 79.

At St Georges, spinners Imran Khan (5-67) and Bryan Charles (4-79) routed the Windwards for 202, to hand Trinidad a massive 172-run win. Veteran opener Devon Smith topscored with 49.

You never know!

In the seventh round, veteran opener Devon Smith hit 103 as the Windwards piled up 293 all out on the opening day of their match at Kensington Oval. Keddy Lesporis chipped in with 59, while pacer Kemar Roach took 4-22 and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican 4-69. Barbados were 22 without loss at the close.

At Queen's Park Oval, medium pacer Raymon Reifer took 3-48, and there were two wickets each for Romario Shepherd, Veerasammy Permaul and Dev Bishoo, as they routed Trinidad for 202 all out. Isaiah Rajah topscored with 41, and Guyana were 38-1 at stumps in reply.

The first day's play at Sabina Park between Jamaica and the Leewards was washed out without a ball being bowled.

What a farce on Day Two at Sabina Park!
No wonder our Test team is languishing in eighth place in the Test rankings....
:?
After the first day was completely washed out, it seems the umpires may have prematurely decided that play should go under way on the second day. As a result, a total of 25 wickets fell!

First, veteran pacer Jerome Taylor took 5-31, and there were two wickets each for Marquino Mindley and Nikita Miller, as Jamaica routed the Leewards for a paltry 71 all out. The burly Rahkeem Cornwall topscored with 29. Then, pacers Gavin Tonge (4-16), Jeremiah Louis (four wickets for four runs), and Alzarri Joseph (2-36) dismissed Jamaica for a pathetic 56 all out. At stumps, the Leewards limped to 32-5.

At Port-of-Spain, Guyana eked out a 44-run lead over Trinidad on first innings at the halfway stage of the match. Asad Fudadin made 57 and Raymon Reifer 50 not out to lead Guyana to 246 all out, pacer Marlon Richards taking 4-34 and offspinner Bryan Charles taking 3-70.

On the second day's play at Bridgetown, Barbados squeezed out a narrow 31-run lead over the Windwards. Makeshift opener Kevin Stoute made 61 as Barbados made 324 all out, while pacer Sherman Lewis took 3-56 and offspinner Shane Shillingford 3-98. The Windwards struggled to erase the deficit, crashing to 34-5 at stumps. Pacer Miguel Cummins has taken three wickets so far.

Low batting totals continued to plague the seventh round.

At Kensington Oval, Barbados beat the Windwards by nine wickets with more than a day to spare. Opening the bowling, part-time spinner Roston Chase took 7-22 and pacer Miguel Cummins 3-47, as they dismissed the Windwards for an embarrassing 71 all out. Barbados then erased the paltry target of 41 for the loss of Anthony Alleyne for 26.

On the third day's play at Queen's Park Oval, left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul opened the bowling, and took 7-48 to bowl Trinidad out for a pathetic 183 all out in their second innings. Isaiah Rajah topscored with 40. Guyana will look to knock off the unchallenging target of 56 on today's final day.

cricinfo still haven't provided the details for the day-night match at Sabina Park yet.

It didn't take long for leaders and defending champions Guyana to beat Trinidad by 10 wickets, on the final day of their four-day match at Port-of-Spain. Chasing a paltry 56 for victory, Shimron Hetmyer hit 44 not out and Raj Chandrika 10 not out to register an easy victory.

The match at Sabina Park actually only lasted two days, after the first day's play was completely washed out. The Leewards won a pathetically low-scoring match by 34 runs. Wicketkeeper Jahmar Hamilton topscored with 45 as the Leewards posted 133 in their second innings. There were two wickets each for pacers Jerome Taylor and Rovman Powell, and for spinners Nikita Miller and Damion Jacobs. Chasing 149 for victory, Jamaica were bowled out for just 114 by pacers Alzarri Joseph (5-43) and Jeremiah Louis (4-23). Jermaine Blackwood topscored with 47.

Barbados are in a strong position at the halfway stage of their top of the table clash in Bridgetown. Shai Hope struck 215 not out, and Shamar Brooks 67, as the home team piled up 480-3 declared. At stumps, Guyana were behind the eight-ball at 119-4.

In the struggle for third place at Queen's Park Oval, Jamaica were bowled out for 201 all out by legspinner Imran Khan (4-28) and left-arm pacer Sheldon Cottrell (3-34). Jermaine Blackwood hit 68 and tailender Derval Green chipped in with 53. Trinidad were 79-3 at the close of the first day's play.

In the bottom of the table clash at Warner Park, the Windwards thrashed a poor Leewards attack to post an impressive 371-6. Wicketkeeper Sunil Ambris hit 155 not out, and he was supported by veteran Devon Smith, who made 65. Offspinner Rahkeem Cornwall has taken three wickets to date.

Barbados cemented their hold on their top-of-the-table match at Kensington Oval, when pacer Miguel Cummins took 5-41 and offspinner Roston Chase 4-46 to dismiss Guyana for 250 on the third day's play. Wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble hit 77 and veteran Shiv Chanderpaul 50. Following on 230 runs behind, Guyana were 119-3 at stumps. In a bizarre move, the WICB has allocated a rest day to this match at Bridgetown today, to allow for the T20 international between the West Indies and Pakistan to be played at the same venue!

In the battle for third place at Port-of-Spain, spinners Nikita Miller (4-39) and Damion Jacobs (3-46) spun Trinidad out for a mere 174 all out. Opener Kyle Hope hit 67 and Yannick Cariah 45. Leading by 27 on first innings, Jamaica limped to 172-7 at the halfway stage of the match. Allrounder Fabian Allen topscored with 60, while medium pacer Rayad Emrit has taken three wickets to date.

In the battle of the bottom feeders at Basseterre, the Windwards piled up a mammoth 540, on the back of 231 from wicketkeeper Sunil Ambris, and 76 from allrounder Kyle Mayers. Spinners Rahkeem Cornwall (4-151) and Jason Campbell (3-100) took the wickets for the Leewards. At the close of the second day, the Leewards were 135-4. Kieran Powell was out for 49 while offspinner Shane Shillingford has taken three wickets to date.

At Queen's Park Oval, Jamaica beat Trinidad by 87 runs with more than a day to spare. In their second innings, the visitors were bowled out for an identical 201 all out by pacers Rayad Emrit (3-30) and Sheldon Cottrell (3-52). Set 229 to win, Trinidad didn't even get close. Once again, spinners Nikita Miller (5-45) and Damion Jacobs (3-55) spun the hosts out for a mere 141 all out, tailender Marlon Richards topscoring with 47.

In St Kitts, offspinner Shane Shillingford took 6-78 and left-arm pacer Delorn Johnson 3-48 to skittle the Leewards out for 240, Nkrumah Bonner topscoring with 55 and there were 40s from Kieran Powell and Rahkeem Cornwall. Trailing by 300 runs, the Leewards were forced to follow on, and at the close of the third day's play they reached 105-2 at stumps. Opener Montcin Hodge was 51 not out, while Shillingford took both wickets to fall to date.

Barbados and Guyana played out an exciting draw in Bridgetown. Veteran Shiv Chanderpaul topscored with 63 to lead Guyana to 322 all out in their second innings. The main wicket-takers for Barbados were pacers Miguel Cummins (3-57) and left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican (3-63). Chasing 93 off just 12 overs, Barbados settled for the draw at 75-5. Medium pacer Raymon Reifer took 4-49.

At Warner Park, the Windwards beat the Leewards by seven wickets. Former World U-19 winner Kacey Carty hit 103, and opener Montcin Hodge 60, while there were 43s for Jahmar Hamilton and Rahkeem Cornwall, as the Leewards posted 351 in their second innings. Spinners Shane Shillingford (6-114) and Liam Sebastien (3-79) did the damage for the Windwards, who then hit off the paltry target of 52 for the loss of three wickets. Opener Tyrone Theophile made 32 not out, and Cornwall finished with 3-23.
