Are not England rather thoughtlessly being made favourites in the media for the CT for which this ODI series has been moved as preparation?
This is their record since the last WC against sides who have qualified.
Home
Won: Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand.
Lost: Australia.
Away
Won: Bangladesh, Pakistan.
Lost: India, South Africa.
So they have beaten the sides they should do, and lost to the stronger sides. The series with NZ at home is the sole example of England defeating a top side, as they've lost the rest, though proved competitive. Surely England can win, but the favourites should come from the sides to have beaten them.
I always say that everybody's right.
