Not sure if you are referring to another incident, but the most famous one was Ben Thatcher nearly killing Pedro Mendes from Portsmouth in a game at Maine Road......

I think Mendes suffered a seizure as a result.

Sheffield Utd must mean Chris Morgan. He was a dirty b.....d

I kind of remember him elbowing Van Persie a few years ago.

That Thatcher one was disgraceful.

I think the guy he elbowed was called Hume.

Had to have his skull cut open to relieve swelling on the brain if i remember rightly.

Will have to look for YouTube video.

You're right, he did elbow Hume, but he did do Van Persie as well. As I said, dirty b....d

I remember that one now. Got absolutely no punishment for it after as well as the ref booked him, and the FA concluded the ref had seen the elbow and acted on it. Useless FA ponces.... wikipedia tells me Hume was on life support for 48 hours and it was touch and go if he would live.

Correct me if I am wrong, but do that on the street you go to prison for 6 years. Thug!

It was typical FA double standards as around the same time Didier Drogba got booked for lobbing a coin thrown at him back in the crowd, and then got a three match ban afterwards. Adebayor got booked for over celebrating a goal and then got a further ban afterwards.

Morgan gets a yellow card for GBH, and the FA turn a blind eye saying the ref saw and dealt with it adequately. Even a number of MPs got involved but the old gits weren't interested.

Madrid need a point to win the title, and in under two minutes Ronaldo puts them 1-0 up away Malaga.

Barcelona player was just fouled by the invisible man in the box, and Messi misses the penalty. Eibar still leading 2-1 at the Noukamp, 3 or 4 absolute awful misses from Messi, Suarez and Neymar. Lack of focus after hearing Madrid leading.
