It's strange how fielding standards have actually dropped in the last 5 years. Ground fielding is pretty good but there are so many dropped catches these days (was 2 every game in the IPL).

?bats so the ball travels faster. Or differently off the wider edges
?fewer practice games so less in tune with local conditions
