Arthur Crabtree wrote:Hopefully Wood didn't go into this game with that injury. If he has had to change how he lands his front foot, then that's a big disadvantage for a bowler they want to operate with unrestrained pace.

Official press line is he bruised his heel in game, though not said when, and that it isn't part of the injuries he sustained before. Sounds a lot like a good excuse for a crap pick.

One thing I didn't know is wood had surgery four times on his ankle. Could be an indication that his pace is lost on injuries.

Durham boys might save me a job, has he bowled well in county cricket last two years?

Came down the wicket the ball wasn't in the right spot to hit over the top but he tried anyway

Miss hit it straight to mid off

Should have blocked it once he realised he was out of position

For England sake they probably need to hope cook can carry on longer than couple of years.
He only had 4 centuries in 4 yrs I think although cook averaging 35 is far better than anyone coming through.

It's as if he doesn't even look at the field placings before playing a shot.

The top 4 all got good balls

Only making 200 in the first innings was worse

130 behind playing on the ground with the lowest average 4th innings totals was game over

If England's best hope was to lose well though, they have failed by that standard.
