I'm not convinced by de Kock at four, especially when South Africa bat second, and the wicketkeeper is tired from a long innings in the field, and you know Kuhn is not going to last long. Surely, du Plessis should lead from the front, and bat at four. Let de Kock bat at five.

I was thinking that in this game. The runscorers have got away with it. The others haven't.

In a very real way, Keaton Jennings may one day look back on his Test career and say that it turned on a dropped catch from Dean Elgar.

With the pressure on selectors to (at very least) consider Jennings' place, another poor score that would have preceded Elgar holding the catch would have very much forced their hand. Jennings then went on to be man of the day statistically however his performance was scratchy at very best. If he sorts his life out tomorrow and gets a half decent score and then pushes on to replicate his County form in the next few innings he is on the plane to Australia.
