A frequent discussion point on 606 used to be worst England sides, containing misfire selections from recent decades. There was probably no need to have one of these in the noughties, as selection was generally good, but especially in the last couple of years, there has been a glut of unsuccessful selections. Consider these who have played since the beginning of 2015:
Lyth/Jennings/Duckett/Westley/Vince/Ballance/Buttler/Ansari/Dawson/Jordan/Ball.
There's Wood, Rashid and Batty averaging over 40 (so far) too, with the ball.
That's a lot of ephemeral, unrewarded picks in such a short period, and probably competitive with any similar period I can remember (it remains to be seen what happens to Stoneman and Malan (and Westley).
I always say that everybody's right.
