Perhaps it means the most recent injury means he is playing catchup in terms of gym work etc but if the actual injury is still an issue it must be yet again a major concern.
Imo Durham should assume he won't be available next year as they are assembling the squad and regard any appearances by him as a bonus.

If he's not considered fully fit what's he doing in the Lions squad due to fly to Australia at the weekend? So FTECB are admitting they've selected an unfit player to go on tour, selected him for 2 back to back tests when he was still in rehab and subjected him to surgery 3 times without successful outcome. Medical litigation people will be queueing up to take on Wood's case.

When he's being paid £700K a year (or whatever it is) for sitting on his @rse, I doubt he'll be wanting to rock the boat

No doubt be won't but he's only on a white ball contract which is effectively a pay as you play deal.

true, but he'll be hoping to get another year or two on the big money deal, if he can.

Wood is with the Lions and is fit but needs to be match fit and their first class game is a chance to get overs in his legs. I think they have already pencilled him in for the Perth Test.

Collingwood took to the field as a sub. I would definitely call him up, in better form than Vince and a good third slip.

Yep. Think it is important for a newcomer to make runs in these warmup games even though the opposition probably isn't too challenging. It will be fascinating to see how he goes in the tests.

Anyone seen date when 2018 fixtures are released? It was Nov. 25th last year.

Someone asked that question on Twitter the other day and the reply from someone working at the club was " hopefully by the end of the month."

I would have thought it was straight forward this year.

No major changes to the domestic season. Apart from the Middlesex issue they could have had this done by October.

Alan Fordham has submitted his draft and is awaiting feedback. Possible day/nighters planned but not all in the same round and may be optional. Otherwise will probably be similar to last season in format ie blocks for Royal London and T20.

Who?
He's a 19 year old from Ormskirk. As well as scoring 179* for Scotland A v Durham II's he's been doing the 2nd XI circuit scoring freely for Durham,Derby and Leics averaging about 50.Sounds promising!
But ssh! It's obviously a Durham secret.

Was an umpire early in the season when he was playing playing for a Scotland A side in a warm up before the Durham match. Very powerful and lots of promise. Let's hope that he can make the leap to 1st Class. No secret -suspect that one K. Coetzer is involved somewhere in this too.

Former Lancs Academy too.

Apparently has a Tynemouth connection too.

Yes, I heard about it from a tweet from Tynemouth CC saying they signed DCCC player M A Jones for 2018.

why is Gordon Muchall included in the list of England/Australia XI batsmen on the DCCC website?

after Diva and Mussy were voted into the opener slots, the choices for 3-5 are Boon, Colly, Katich, Borthdick, Jones and Muchall.

am I missing something?

Only thing I can think of is if he played for the England Under19's v Australia and they've included him for that reason - or maybe corkball has hacked the site!
