Dhawan missing the 2nd test and bhuveshnar kumar missing the rest of the series because he is getting married next week and will probably get the month off and come back for the Test series in SA.

Suspect the rest of the games will be spinning decks now with bhuvi missing.

Next team probably will be this.

Vijay
Kl Rahul
pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Ashwin
Saha
Jadeja
Kuldeep yadav
Shami
Umesh yadav

will probably be the team for the next test and then for the 3rd it is between Dhawan and Vijay for the final spot.

I feel Shami will be the highest wicket taker in this series. And i hope so as i have him in my FL.

The wickets this time around (Winter season) post the monsoon are relatively more helpful to pacers than they are in month of April to May (Summer). The time off also means the wickets that are used in previous season get time to be repaired or relaid.

If Shami bowls like he did in the last test, then he defo won't be the highest wicket taker in the series!

TBH he did take 6 wickets still probably finding Rythm isn’t in the white ball team so hasn’t played for India for a while.

Yeah he took 6 wickets in the match, but in general think he would say he didn't bowl well...not always gonna take 6 wickets when your not bowling well..

Yeah he was very inconsistent the shami of 2014/aus test series where India bowlers were so bad.
They were basically bowling machine god know how they found the rythym for the World Cup.
Were awful in the tri series as well.
Also think India being disrepectful with the sa series and planning, if the ashes were not happening you would probably see loads of articles of why bhuvi, pandya, kohli etc are missing test to get ready for sa tour and this series essentially being a warm up for those test.
Which Kohli just said today.
Although like the preview said this is an opportunity for Sri Lanka to show India that they are a team to be taken seriously and not treated like they just a warm up team for sa.
If I was a Sri Lankan player I would be pretty pissed about how india treating them here even England don’t steep this low before an ashes series.
You really can’t have the players, admistration and everyone basically treating test matches like warm up games.

All SL can do is win the 2nd test, deny india the series win and give them a bump back down to earth..

You feel Kolkata was their best chance of a win.
In the flatter decks of Nagpur and Delhi India will win easily especially if they prepare decks that help all 3 aspects of the game.
Pace on day 1, batting 2-3 and spin 4-5.
With India have a better pace attack, better spinners and batsman it should be an easy win.
Kolkata was that lottery games that Sri Lanka missed out on and nearly lost it as well.

Shami was not fully fit - it was evident with the way he got back to run up at times. Still he picked 6 wickets. He bowled at good pace and lot of the deliveries were superb. Usually Indian pace bowlers bowling at that speed do not have as much control over the line and length as well as the movement together in one delivery.

Shami's fitness is not good though. He gets injured a lot. Has to work on fitness so that we can have a good opening bowling pair continuously over many series.

Yeah he is very similiar to Vernon Philander in terms of fitness and how the importance they both have to their respective nations...both need to improve fitness particuarly as they only really play one format of the game for their country...they need to be relied on..

As we talk about his fitness concerns in first test, he is rested due to niggle.

Rohit comes in for Bhuvi as Bhuvi has wedding.

Murali replaces Shikhar.

Dinesh has won the toss and opted to bat first at Nagpur.

First ball...

Ishant to Sadeera. Outside the off and goes to slip. Definitely not a losener ball to begin with.
