England again struggling and facing a big defeat. The top order has failed and had an appalling series. Hameed who seems to have barely made a run and hasn't passed fifty (neither has his partner Jennings), leads the averages. But only with 28. There are three fifties and no hundreds (WI have two tons and six fifties). Livingstone, who I presume is now in NZ, averages 18.

The only success of the tour is Leach, with 19 wickets. TRJ and Porter found things difficult and Crane suffered a desertion of form in conditions where every other spinner excelled.

Warrican averages nine and his econ of 1.9 looks like a stat from the Victorian era.

Livingstone is injured and a doubt for New Zealand.

perhaps FTECB should introduce a Lion's team into the County Championship and make them play every match at Taunton

Serious question Mike, isnt this type of low total/spin domination the norm for West Indies domestic scene now? Pretty sure when I last seen a discussion on it, there was quite a number of spinners averaging under 20 in Windies.

Spot on...pitches in the Caribbean resemble the Subcontinent these days. the only pitch that offers anything for pacers is Kensington Oval. Who would want to be a pacer in the Caribbean these days?

The West Indies made 273-9 declared, with 70s from wicketkeepers Jahmar Hamilton and Shane Dowrich. Dominic Bess took 5-88 and Paul Coughlin 3-44.

Dont know, but he seems to be a rare thing nowadays.... a 4 day specialist, as hes played a significant number of FC matches, but hardly any T20 and OD ones.

No resistance from England's lower order and no one goes past Haseeb's 26.

This has been a very worrying, and, frankly embarrassing tour for England. The West Indies are no longer a force in Test cricket and for our A side to be so comprehensively brushed aside especially considering it's a relatively strong line up with two players who are due to be in the Test squad for New Zealand, there is no excuse for the results.

I guess the only positive is we've learnt that our younger players are completely clueless against spin. How Crane has gotten into the senior side when he is completely out bowled by a part timer at A side level is beyond me.

England have a habit of picking the worst performers out of the group though. Remember when Vince averaged something like 5 in the UAE tour of quite a few games (think 5 odd unofficial internationals) and Ball had a horror tour, and despite being the worst batter and bowler on the tour it was those that got picked.

Crane had a horror tour this time round, and is going to NZ. Last year, Craig OVerton averaged 50 in SL ( the worst) and got a test cap over the others. Jennings and Foakes were the worst batsman and both got on the Ashes squad.

Daniel Bell Drummond out batted everyone last year, and I think he made runs again this summer in that thumping 10 wicket win vs SA. Not even a mention.

If you make it pointless, dont expect people to turn up and be serious in their winters off

Daniel Bell-Drummond did very well for Kent in the just-concluded Regional Super50 in Antigua. He had no difficulty coping with Caribbean spinners.

The West Indians secured a 3-0 clean sweep when they crushed the England Lions by 212 runs at the Viv Richards stadium. Chasing an unlikely 408 for victory, the Lions meekly succumbed to 195 all out, Haseeb Hameed topscoring once again with 26. They were once again mesmerised by the left-arm spin of Jomel Warrican, who took 5-55.

another thumping defeat, I see. Need to be careful that it isn't habit forming. Thank goodness it will have nothing to do with the management, the coaches, or the selectors!

Wonder if wicb will get punished for picking a strong team and playing so well against England lions.
Wonder if lions will go back to facing Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and uae tours again.

Face teams that will never beat England lions and so no one is that bothered to look at the scorecards and so flower again can pick players for the senior side on recommendation.

Personally think england should face stronger teams and not some poor Sri Lankan or Bangladesh team. For a long time you actually saw crIcket journalist follow lions cricket on the scorecard mostly because England were losing and runs and wickets actually meant something here.

Be intresting to see how India a vs English lions goes next summer and the corresponding fixtures when ever it is played in India goes.

Current viewing those games should be very close in England and probably one sided in India.
