Poor old Surrey.... they make a bargain basement overseas signing for the entire season and he immediately gets sent for ankle surgery and might appear for his county later in the year if he passes his fitness tests. I could weep for them.... it's not like they can afford to buy up every player they fancy on a whim, so it'll hit them hard

Hampshire have signed Steyn for the upcoming season. Will be interesting to see if he can stay fit.

He will sell tickets and youngsters like Brad Wheal should be able to learn off him, good news.

It'll be interesting to see how many do turn up to that Surrey four-day game, given that the rumours/expectations are that Steyn, Morkel and Kohli will all be on show. In addition to Abbott and others.

I do think Dobell is quite partisan on the issue, but no less than most present on these boards. Dobell is winning my respect recently, I personally find his strive to make the ECB accountable to the cricketing public is a worthy crusade.

I was searching for prominent articles and it looks like they have been taken down. This seems a war the ECB can't win. Even if Graves wins in court, he destroys himself utterly in the eyes of the public. This is quite uncomfortable stuff from a board that will not accept that it should be subject to scrutiny. Remember Giles Clarke saying that the English public can have opinions on the England team but the administration of the national side was none of their concern?

Kudos to Dobell.

Well the ironic thing is, the Private Eye published an article in which it suggested that Dobell is being sued for portraying Graves unfairly as draconian, saying that the accusation that he ignores due process is factually incorrect. The ECB spokesman then confirmed that the ECB had decided to pick up the legal tab for Graves action, because it was "appropriate in his role as ECB Chairman, we are supporting him". When challenge who "we was" the spokesman admitted the ECB board had not been consulted. :facepalm :facepalm

The Private Eye article suggests that the main issue is the use of a picture with Graves sporting a Yorkshire tie, which they feel suggests bias, and the fact that an article Dobell wrote contained a conclusion saying "time for changes, isnt it", evidencing his bias.

It sounds pretty pathetic to be honest. But yes, Dobell seems to be very quiet and the articles have been deleted from cricinfo.

TBH uk weather is so unpredictable could be hot in may, but a washout in june, july or even august.

next week uk should be hot, going to be hotter than greece.
think london might reach 25 degrees next week.
