I did say they could afford to concede one or two!

Not sure I can agree with the Messi statement, but he is on fire. Lovely goal. Shame there was a clear foul in the build up. The third was offside too.....

Might not have made a difference like the 2nd goal that never was against City could have, but Liverpool do get all the decisions in the CL at the moment.

Thought Lovrens clumsy handball was a penalty, and he was lucky to be on the field after a tough challenge wasnt booked (he had a yellow card).

Roma defended like schoolboys for half an hour though. All Liverpool did was launch it a la Wimbledon, and that was enough......

Roma cant surely keep a clean sheet in the 2nd leg, but they can score 3 goals against this defence, not that I think they will.

I remember Newcastle being 3-0 up against Barcelona, before conceding the two late goals which ultimately cost them the tie

Blimey... that was a long time ago. Faustino Asprilla scored a couple. For most of that game Newcastle battered Barca.... ain't that always the way?

Roma have to repeat their result against Barca in the quarters. Barca were really poor in that game though and not sure Roma can do it again. Liverpool will probably score a couple as Roma have to come out and try and get at least three.

Salah is playing at the same level as Messi right now. He has to do it for 9 or 10 more seasons before he can be really compared to the greatest player to have ever played the game.

They are uncannily similar in so many ways with their size, their shuffling running styles and the wands of left feet.

Its possible. 1% possible.

If I were Liverpool id throw everything at them again, no way Roma get a clean sheet

Some of Salah's play away from the box can be poor, unlike Messi, who is the best creator in the world.

He's had a fair few assists this season but when you get the number of goals he's got this season he isn't going to be the main provider, mainly because he's the main taker of chances.

Has to learn how to take a free kick, which I don't think he ever has. Messi is a master in that regard.

I did read that Salah is incredibly set to beat the record for key chances missed in a season..... imagine if he could finish like Ruud Van..... hed have scored 70.

Build up play is very good usually.

Interestingly, I wonder how many mothers and children will attend Arsenals Europa League game tomorrow, due to start at 2005? If its a second leg game, then it has the potential to finish at 2300 hours. Anfield was pretty full tonight, no one seemed to concerned on a school night that the game would end at 2200 hours. Wonder how many of these people travelling to the game were from the Liverpool area too, and didnt drive huge distances or take a train to be there?

This "kids needs to be in bed" nonsense is utter trash. This idea that people cant watch sport late into the evening, utter crap. Where is this coming from, this model that sport doesnt work like this?

Probably worth mentioning in other countries, sport is on TV much later than the UK. Games in Italian and Spanish football for instance regularly finish at 2300 hours.Barcelona dont struggle for a crowd.

Worrying about childrens bedtime in summer holidays as a main reason for change? God, this is crazy.
