Yeah i reckon your right there. If they don't select him then something must be badly wrong with his game.

I think wearside willow's team is as good as we can get but I shudder to think what will happen in the T20! We look weak as a 50 over side and even worse when it comes to T20.

he certainly is not a opening bowler in championship cricket. His background suggests he is more of a one day player than 1st class. I have been as impressed with his bating as much as his bowling.
The t20 could be carnage this season.

I'd go
Latham
Clark
Richardson
Colly
Smith
Pringle
Weighell
Poytner
Potts
Rimmington
Steel

That's got a good ( for us!) batting line-up. If Potts is fully fit I'd also have him in. Good experience in the middle order there with Richo, Colly and Smith. Wonder if it might be worth trying Poynter as a pinch hitter at the top of the order.

ECB statement on players involved in IPL.
Players selected for the first Test of the summer against Pakistan which starts at Lord’s on May 24 have been told by the ECB that they are expected to return by May 17, with availability for Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures to be confirmed nearer the time.

So Stokes may be available for Durham this weekend?

If he's not jet lagged he should play- been in dreadful batting form in the IPL!

Today's RL50 teams appear to be missing the test players so it suggests Wood & Stokes won't be available to us.

Correct

Squad vs Yorkshire Vikings (18 May)
Tom Latham (c), Cameron Steel, Will Smith, Graham Clark, Michael Richardson, Paul Collingwood, Stuart Poynter (wk), Ryan Pringle, James Weighell, Matthew Potts, Nathan Rimmington, Matt Dixon, George Harding

With Steel and Dixon to miss out, I suggest. Worth trying SLA Harding, so few of that type around.

Rimmington , Pringle and Dixon! Let's hope they play Potts.

Yorkshire are batting after winning the toss.
Durham XI: Latham (c), Smith, Clark, Richardson, Collingwood, Poynter (wk), Pringle, Weighell, Rimmington, Potts, Harding
I know there are all-rounders there but only 5 specialist batsmen and a suspect bowling lineup.

On the Sky card Colly is down to open with Clark and Latham is in the middle order.

Already looks as if a huge score will be posted! Flat pitch and ineffective bowling. Think I'll head down to the ground in an hour or so to witness the carnage!

I don't know about him opening the batting but maybe he should open the bowling! I think Rimmington is one of the worst frontline bowlers we've had.
