Seems as if there is something riding on this game tomorrow - the loser wins the wooden spoon! :facepalm
And the T20 will be underway soon and that has the potential to be a real fiasco- wonder if we're still looking to bring in a second overseas player?

Salisbury was offered a development contract apparently which he rejected so is now on trial with a view to a full time contract. Let's hope he's another Rushworrh as opposed to a Dixon

We win the toss and are batting. Davies is playing but Poynter is keeping wicket. Harte down to open the batting! Dixon is out and Salisbury in.

What is quite alarming about that XI is only 3 are academy products.

Very worrying. Looks as if the talent pool is drying up. Injuries a factor but they knew all about the fitness records of the younger bowlers so it was almost certain there'd be an injury crisis at some point.
Other thing is that our two batting successes in this competition are Smith & Richardson , not academy products either - at least I assume Richo isn't and Smith obviously came from Notts.

Finally an opening combination that works - no wickets down after 4 overs!

29/1. Clark c&b Raine. Was Raine anywhere near the first team when he was here? I seem to recall he was not and yet if he was here now he'd be one of our key players in all formats. Another sign of our decline.
Looking at the replay and it was an outstanding catch. Typical to be on the receiving end of things like that when things aren't going well.

Another useful innings by Harte but he's gone for 35 followed back to the pavilion by the great leader for 4. :horse
75/3.

He was a opening bat who iirc didn't bowl.He was halfway through an Academy contract and asked to be released.

Thanks. Seems to be a very useful all rounder now. Pity we can't get him back!

Richardson has hurt his leg and Harte is coming out as a runner. Richo not the best runner at the best of times so Smith will be run out soon.
Nigel will be preparing the treatment table. :scared

He's out now for 43. Probably for the best given its a meaningless game. Let's hope he's fit for Saturday.

Capitulating now. 128/6. And still about 20 overs remaining! Welcome to Durham Ryan Davies - first team debut and in after the usual disastrous collapse. And Leicestershire must be the worst side in county cricket...for now.
