Tim maybe is the one you leave out. He's supposed to be fading as a bowler and he's not making top order runs.

But then the top order isn't making top order runs.

Need to get a spinner in too.

Fact is the only way Yorkshire will get rid of Gale is if they are relegated. It's clear he's got the support of the power broker, namely Graves.

Longing for the day for Gale to leave, though i'm not sure if relegation will make much difference if the County Championship becomes a conference format.

An absolute failure in the Twenty20 by finishing rock bottom of the North Group may get the board to realise. Either the supporters will vote with their feet or make their voices heard.

Has just resgined as chairman, ECB regulations has made Denison's position untenable due to recent events.

A shame in some ways because Denison has been visible in his role as chairman and the club has turned a corner off-field. Rising Twenty20 crowds, steady increase of membership intakes, ticket sales for England test matches recovering and Headingley getting major England matches next decade.

Though this has come at expense of generally sub-par domestic cricket performances and continually supporting Andrew Gale when results have been a lot to be desired. I hope the new chairman will actually pay particular attention to the playing and coaching side of things.

So gates are up at Yorkshire ccc so Dennison is OK? Doubt if the 1000's who have lost their jobs at BHS will share that opinion

Yes, Denison has unified the club during his stint as chairman. I seem to recall Mark Arthur taking a swipe at the Yorkshire membership base because 92% of them did not buy tickets for England matches (this was when Graves was chairman).

Financially the club is more stable, one particular highlight on the balance sheet is domestic matchday revenue has gone up by £1 Million in the past five years. The club has also embraced digital media for content and marketing purposes, attracting new fans for the T20 Blast.

The only negative I have is the boards over-support for the new ECB competition for short-term financial gain, where the club should be advocating the T20 Blast and turning into a premier competition.

The unsavoury aspect of all this, however, is the influence Graves still has at the club. He has the power of veto as to who is elected to the management board,in effect, therefore, having control over the management and direction of the club.
Yorkshire's financial position does not concern me but the continuing influence the chairman of ECB has on Yorkshire's affairs does. I do find it difficult to comprehend, however, how Yorkshire are in a much stronger financial position when they've just had to go cap in hand to a financial institution to borrow £20m with no indication as to what rate of interest.

Regarding financial situation, Caddick Group received bar takings relating to ground ownership but I believe that arrangement has expired or is expring this year.

Yorkshire aren't borrowing extra money to fund the Football Stand redevelopment. Legal and General have put the money upfront and the facility is getting leased back via Leeds City Council who are acting as guarantor. Hospitality revenue from the new stand should cover the repayments, bearing in mind it will be used by Leeds Rhinos and Yorkshire Carnegie Rugby clubs.

I genuinely wish Yorkies well, it's Graves I have the gripe with. Remember, though, that it was Dennison who brokered the new stand deal.

I feel it's Graves influence is why Yorkshire are in support of "The Hundred" regardless of what concerns it brings. The Yorkshire brand will always be more powerful than any City based contraption it will impersonate at Headingley.

Yorkshire have their Test players back for their trip to Old Trafford later on this morning for a relegation Roses battle. Kane Williamson plays his first CC match of the season. Josh Poysden is on loan from Warks. The squad is:

Gary Ballance
Jonny Bairstow (WK)
Tim Bresnan
Harry Brook
Jack Brooks
Ben Coad
Adam Lyth
Steven Patterson ©
Josh Poysden
Joe Root
Josh Shaw
Kane Williamson

Buttler and Anderson can play for Lancs.
I always say that everybody's right.
