Personally I'm putting earplugs in.

Vaughan's got some good knowledge of the game, to be sure, but when he gets hold of something, he doesn't half go on about it. We get it, he doesn't support Rashid's selection. I agree with many of his reasons, but there's no need to bang on about it all over the media for the whole week building up to the game. Rashid's been picked, let him get on with it.

Plus I still think he was daft for advocating Broad's dropping before Headingley, when Broad had taken 6-fer two games earlier.

Poor review. Root isn't the best at these.

Did look a decent shout ; but chances were it would be u/c at best. In fact missing leg.

Beating the bat though ...

Yeah, those angles always look closer to hitting in real time, but always seem to slide down. England asking some half questions here, but India will be happy they have runs on the board early.

Indian openers doing well to deal with some probing stuff ...Anderson and Broad attacking with quite full lengths generally.
Vijay watchful ; Dhawan has played a couple of nice drives. They'll really want to see off these two and test England's reserve bowlers.

Drinks at 44/0 ...Broad off for Sam C. India will be delighted with the first hour of the day.

Seems a good day for batting so England will need to stay disciplined and make them really work for their runs. Will be interesting to see if Rashid can get some turn when he gets into the attack.

We are so rubbish

Curran isn't test quality but neither are 4 of the batsmen

Just waiting for Rashid to come on at 150-0 and get plastered all over Edgbaston

Massive partnership here.
Dhawan can get out anytime and if a wicket fall here India in a bit of trouble after a good start.

Curran, 2-9! Justifying his place.

A few runs too.

Key moment with King Kohli at the crease...
