It's either that, or prepare the fastest, bounciest pitch known to man, and then unleash Fidel, Steyn and Abbott on them.

I'm pleased that it didn't pay off for Somerset, but I'm more annoyed that Lancs avoided defeat. That could be very costly for us.

you still have to play them at your place. win that and win this match, and you'll be fine... do that and there will be 2 teams worse off than you by the end of the season

Enormously!

Interesting that Abbott is opening. Suggests that he really is back to his usual self.

Dale was naturally rusty at the start for us, having hardly bowled in recent time, but he's come to the party recently. We missed him last week.

Unfortunately, even during his short time with us, he's already been injured twice. So even though he's producing the goods when fit, getting him back next year (if he's willing) might not be an easy decision for us to make.

Just pick XI Hampshire players.

You'll finish bottom, mind.

There's an outside chance this could finish today, not sure what the rules are on playing extra time to reach a result.

In theory we could claim an extra 30 mins once these last 12 overs (or whatever it is) have been bowled, if Worcs are about 7 or 8 down. But I suspect bad light might come into it again before then, like it did yesterday. Especially now that Fidel is on. It'll take forever to bowl these remaining overs.

They'd be no point in us putting Dawson and Weatherley on, just to continue bowling. Better to just come back tomorrow.

Clarke was starting to become annoying, final burst of the day from Abbott puts pay to that small concern.
