Yes, they could have paid for that extra year on his contract with the money they've squandered on Pillans and Poysden.

They need some runs from him now.

And they got them.

Decent end to the season for ZBGB concludes with a bang with a near double ton.

Two hat-tricks in 2 days for Somerset. Tom Abell yesterday and Craig Overton this morning - all 3 of his wickets caught by Marcus Trescothick.
With Notts looking certain to lose and Lancs likely to win would Lancs have stayed up ( assuming both games today go as expected )if they'd reached 300 in their first innings yesterday?

Yorks look likely to get fourth place, which is about as good as could be anticipated this season.

Still a chance for Hants to win and Yorks to lose from here I suppose.

Big relief for Notts.

Incredibly frustrating for Lancs.

In the Peter Moores strata of the CC table.

Patto getting the key wicket of Moeen Ali and Ben Coad running through the middle order, including 2 wickets in an over.

"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie

That looks a lot better.

Yorks picking a spinner for once who won't get a bowl in the second innings.

Hats off to ZBGB for dragging his decline around in the last month. More valuable runs today. The attack has been good. A few positives to take into the winter.

I say so with trepidation, but that's a hell of a comeback for Middx at Riverside.

55-5, be some comeback by Surrey after the 400+ first innings deficit.

Virdi's concession of 66 runs off 10 or so overs isn't helping their cause though.
