So it's my fault. Sorry folks. Checking out for the day, hopefully England will get the lead over 300 without my negative influence.

Whew. It worked. I checked out and England whack on another 60 runs for the last 3 wickets then take 4 in the last hour.

What the hell was Matthews thinking falling into that trap? With the rain on the way? It looks as if Sri Lanka have checked out. I expect it to be over fairly quickly today. There will probably be one annoying partnership that hangs around for a while, but once that's broken the rest will fall quickly. Sri Lanka's lower order isn't that strong at the best of times, and it looks as if the fight has gone.

Interesting series. England have been poor in places, especially with the bat, Sri Lanka have had opportunities in every game, yet failed to make the most of them. After the travails abroad recently, 3-0 England is beyond the wildest dreams of most supporters, and will give England a lot of confidence heading to the West Indies (a place where they haven't managed to win since 2004, despite the gulf in quality between the two sides for most of that time - England have absolutely destroyed the West Indies at home).

SL fighting back. Should be England from here, but being made to work for it.

New ball could be a factor, in nineteen overs, if the game gets there.

Two quick wickets from Leach and Mo. Needed those. Should be plain sailing now.

Nothing from Rashid yet. Maybe he can clean up the tail.

It is weird... pushpakamara is supposed to be an all-rounder, coming in after tailenders. Why is he batting at 11, makes nonsense

Didn't realise Pushpa was an allrounder. Interesting situation.

Thinking back to TB in 2015 when Braddin and Pattinson were separated for the last wicket by an interval. Broad bowled before the break then too. Scores were a bit closer though.

Leach finishes it off, well done to him, Mo, Rashid on the win. And Root and Bayliss and the rest of the tourists. 3-0 in SL is a landmark victory. Reminds me of England winning 4-0 in the WI in 2004.

Probably gave Bairstow MOM to stop him throwing his toys out the pram.

I would have said Stokes, hundred runs in the game and featuring in important rebuilding partnerships in both innings, and a crucial bowling spell in first innings when SL were getting away. Plus some important catches.

Foakes is definitely right for MOS.
