I think it will have the opposite effect, tbh, because I think the Graves folly will divert attention away from county cricket and lead to much less interference from the bean counters. No more squashing all the T20 into the best months just to concentrate the T20 mercenaries into England for 6 weeks. From 2020 all that concentration of fixtures will happen outside the county circuit. CC all through the summer, T20 on a Friday night.. that sort of thing. I'd be perfectly happy if the folly had that sort of impact

At one of the forums they mentioned this year as an anomaly with CC being played throughout the season and your fears are correct - from 2020 they said the ganes will be even more early and then late season than this year!

Rule amendment approved. Archer available for England from January.

Good! Hopefully we won't come up against him at all!

Update from Wisdener is that he'll meet the new 3 year criteria " sometime in March".

It's not like FTECB to change rules on a whim!

Very encouraging. Perhaps it waa workload management reasons why he missed the opening games.

Very fair and balanced article, as expected of Dobell, on ECB Bristolgate hearing. Provides further background of which I was unaware.

Another good spell 10-0-26-2 in final ODI in which Lions again got hammered. Overall figures in both ODI's and red ball impressive.

Very good individual performances from him in a team that was outclassed. Encouraging.

Excellent piece. The logical thing would be to draw a line on it and either not impose further punishment on Stokes or impose a 'sentence' that has already been served. Hales a bit more of a puzzler!

Hales is in serious trouble imo from what Dobell reports having been seen on video stamping on a person prone on the ground and then denying he was present throughout the altication when video evidence shows he was. Suspect Hales will now become a global T20 mercenary in tournaments outside the duristriction of ECB.
The disciplinary panel will also consider charge of misuse of social media by the pair, most noticeably Stokes mimicking of Katie Price's disabled son. That could have serious consequences for Stokes.
