214 run stand for Latham and Nicholls. A day of awesome Kiwi domination with 71 off 45 balls from CDG and a couple of new ball wickets too. Forza.

636 to win. Teams will have to bat twice nowadays in second innings to score that many. Even then it's doubtful.

Required rate at 3.53 runs per over, combined with the 2 wickets fallen it is a tall order for Sri Lanka to bat the full 180 overs.

For even all three results to be possible going into the final session, Sri Lanka would need to score close to 500 runs and have 4 wickets in tact.

Looks like another deck that has flattened out to offer nothing.

Batting two days is still a tall order with this Sri Lanka line-up, but as they showed last week, they have more resolve than they're sometimes given credit for.

Baffles me sometimes how New Zealand produce pitches greener than village cricket, yet are flat on Days 4 and 5.

Might be challenging for number one after that.

Looks like it might be close today. NZ favourites with ten to go though.

Jimym Neesham has ensured he is on flight for WC. Good comeback. Was playing in India A series in NZ and now follows at international level.

That to me means the other batting all-rounder Corey Anderson has no chance. He was injured while playing Pakistan A in UAE and had stopped bowling recently.
CDG and Jimmy Neesham seem to me as batting all-rounders in pace category. Feel Santner will be in as spin bowling all-rounder, as he has massively improved his batting in last two years. Also he has been included in T20i squad having recovered fully and bowling and batting in Super Smash. The other bowling all-rounder is Doug Bracewell but the selectors have not given him a chance in this series. Will he get to prove himself in the final ODI ? The only other ODI series NZ play before WC is against Bangladesh in NZ who play 3 ODI as part of the tour. Perhaps Bracewell get a chance in those.

So far it seems :
Batting all-rounders: CDG and Neesham. Corey to miss out on WC squad.
Bowling all-rounder : Santner and Bracewell (Santner imo is certain for WC)
