I wonder if any of the Indian U19 players will make the ACC Emerging Cup squad.

Think the odi squad will be the one used, the Test squad was quite poor, hopefully india send a way better test squad to England this summer.

ACC Emerging Cup is U23 only for the Test nations. Only Afghanistan, HK, Malaysia, Nepal can play their senior teams.

when is it being played dan.
ipl/domestic season might play a part in what squad is chosen for it.

doubt india will select a strong squad might be players that not picked up in IPL/domestic competition, although think vijay hazare trophy should be finished by then.

March 25 to April 5. India picked players like Rahul, Bumrah, Axar for the last ACC Emerging Teams Cup. That was 4 years ago though.

The ODI series between Sri Lanka Under 19s and Australia Under 19s got interesting today.

The Aussies narrowly beat Sri Lanka in the first two...the second one being something of a thriller. Today Sri Lanka brought it back to 2-1 with a 64 run drubbing. Seems that Sudeera Thilakaratne was the difference; making his national debut the U-18 year old got 4 wickets including the opener and two from two balls to round off the Australian tail. The final game of the series is on Thursday.

Seems I got this wrong.....that game was the final game. Today's game is the start of (that ever rare thing) a Youth Test.

Australia batted first and declared on 269/9. It would probably be Sri Lanka who would be the happiest at the end of Day One; especially Rohan Sanjaya for his 5-94. Sanjaya is something of a Under 19 veteran having already played in the Bangladesh series - in fact this is already his third international 5-fer at the tender age of 17.

The Lankas were 20 without loss from the 5 overs they played before stumps.

Again, it was Sri Lanka who found themselves in the driving seat on Day Two thanks to a strong performance with the bat. The opening partnership put on 93 whilst a further 84 was added by the second. It was Kamil Mishra that will be most pleased with his day with a score of 105. Mishara is highly rated and is definitely one to watch.

A middle order collapse saw Sri Lanka from 177-2 to 287-7 at stumps, but they still have a lead of 18 runs that they will hope their tail stretches tomorrow morning.

A pathetic batting performance from Australia undermined a sixfer for Zak Evans on his Youth Test debut.

Australia were all out for 151 after Sri Lanka declared after just putting another 22 runs on their overnight total. Their highest individual score was %2 from their 7th batsman - Jarrod Freeman

This then left Sri Lanka needing just 112 runs to win - a total they made heavy weather of. They had lost a wicket before bothering the scores an kept doing so regularly until the fifth partnership put on a head of steam. Evans dismissed all six Sri Lankan batsmen.

Namibia delivered something of a thrashing to Tanzania in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier Africa Division One.

Ramon Wilmot's 132 from 122 balls saw Namibia to 296/7 before Tanzania were all out for just 46.

Pakistan began their tour of South Africa today with a warm-up game against a KwaZulu-Natal Acaedemy team who they beat handsomely.

The national side hit a very decent 303/8 in their innings with Haider Ali scoring 160 - his 4th score of 50+ in his 6th international foray.

The provincial side crumbled to 162 all out.

Pakistan's first game against South Africa starts on Saturday.

Looks like Pakistan have the beating of South Africa.

After a 17 run win on Saturday, Pakistan won again today slightly more handsomely.

It was the performance of South Africa's Andrew Louw that caught as he reached a 114 ball 91 - the top scorer from either side. He helped the Saffers to a total of 215 which Pakistan overturned with 43 balls to spare.

They next meet on Thursday.

Another century for Haider Ali saw his Pakistan team take a 3-0 lead away from home in South Africa.

South Africa put on a decent 276 batting first but the Pakistanis easily overhauled it in just 42 overs.

South Africa are about to be on the losing end of one of the most humiliating sights in international cricket - a 7-0 whitewash.

Pakistan completed their 6th straight victory by 60 runs.

This is despite the fact that South Africa boasted the bowler with the best figures and the highest scoring batsmen thanks to Jonathan Bird's 112. The problem was that the Saffers collapsed from 141-3 to 222 all out - outside of the top three no batsman scored more than 6!

Bird's performances have been one of the least embarrassing parts of this tour for the home team. He has now scored 75, 100 and 112 in the last three games but scored 0 and 1 in the first three.

There's been some very one sided encounters in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier Americas Region tournament.

The two games today cumitivaly only saw 91 overs bowled rather than the 200 you'd expect.

This was most evident in the game between the USA and Argentina.

The US only needed 4.4 overs to get the 57 runs needed to overtake Argentina's total of 54 all out after 37 overs.

The US shared their wickets around but Sanjay Stanley's 3-16 was the pick of the figures.
