Excellent. The experience will be valuable enough but to excel must be a big confidence booster.

Cameron Bancroft finding his form in the BBL, two consecutive half centuries with 87 not out today. If he's not careful he'll be in the World Cup squad! Although if Warner returns there presumably won't be an openers slot because isn't Finch the ODI skipper?

I would imagine that the vast majority of counties have overseas player(s) whose appearances will be conditional on World Cup selection. I'm more concerned that there's been no announcement regarding the batting coach- clearly they had no one earmarked for the post.

Would they be trying to do it on the cheap? Perish the thought!

Yes, advertising in local Job Centresplus. "Attractive package -above minimum wage".
IMO one of the many Aussies we've had who've scored consistently at the Riverside would be ideal. Ironically the only one who wouldn't fulfill that criteria is North.

Yes. He has come through the Durham age group teams and I think he may have another year at U17,or possible 2. He was in
Durham u15s last season.Mainly a bowler but can bat to.

Yes. Seems an odd choice but I suppose he is at least familiar with county cricket. When I first saw the headline I wondered if he was going to be batting coach.

He's done some TV work on Sky and was pretty impressive and thoughtful so I think he make a good coach. Although I think he was still playing last year so this'll be his first major role.
Wonder who the T20 coach will be?

Yes, I assumed it was the batting appointment without reading the article properly. Must admit I find it difficult to understand the demarcation between these various coaching roles.

I agree, it seems as if the new structure is going to be either very flexible or overly complicated! I wonder when North and Franklin are going to announce who will be captain?
