He was in few A squads so maybe he is unlikely to be available for many matches.

Cameron Bancroft is the overseas player - subject to any Australia call ups but there's at least one vacancy for the T20 competition. I guess Durham will be waiting to appoint the T20 coach ( they're splitting the coaching roles this year, one will do the First Class and List A competitions with a separate T20 coach) before making any decisions on overseas players for the comp.

Thank you. Lot of T20 coaches available with relevant experience now at various franchisee tournaments.

Yep, should be plenty of decent candidates. There was something on cricinfo a few days ago about James Franklin being lined up as FC/List A coach but nothing has been confirmed.

Mike Hesson , the ex Black Caps coach has got two contracts with two T20 franchisees. He will be free as he will be done coaching Kings 11 Punjab in IPL. If he is not commentating in NZ, he is one option. Mahela Jayawardene is coach for Khulna Titans and Mumbai Indians. He will also be free as BPL will be over this month and IPL before WC. Brad Hodge is another. Stephen Fleming too will be free by that time.

Thanks. Some excellent options there.

Relevant experience won't be a factor...........they'll just have to be extraordinarily cheap

Alex Lees would rate The Footman's coaching methods than the current head coach at Yorkshire
"Stats are there to be broken" Dominic Cork
"They took all our players away, banned our captain and we still came away with a ten-wicket victory" Jason Gillespie
"You won't get anywhere slouching about half out of bed" Geoffrey Boycott

This upcoming season is a big one for Lees. He looked classy at Durham but didn't make any really big scores. Hopefully he will do so this year.

After a few good scores in a row before being pictured wearing his Durham shirt, Cameron Bancroft has hardly scored a run in the BBL.

Beginning to looking as if they're scraping the barrel looking for a batting coach.

Yep! Either there are so many eager and highly suitable candidates ...or there aren't any, and I think we know which is far more likely.

Franklin confirmed as the head coach with Killeen and Walker also signing new deals.
Might be just as well he's not doing the T20 - he's been working with Brisbane Heat in the BBL who are second from bottom in the table with 7 defeats in 11 matches! And one of the others must have been a no result because they only have 3 wins.

Yes, it's finally been announced on the club website 15 days after George Dobell announced it. The club are currently in communication with George to find out who the new batting consultant is :d'oh:
