Think Woakes is seen - rightly or wrongly - as a "home conditions" bowler. And even at home he's fighting with Curran (left arm = different , and equally effective with the bat) for a spot. Probably has been seen for a while as the natural successor to Jimmy...only "problem" being Jimmy shows no sign of riding off into the sunset any time soon...

I see the attraction of utilizing his all round skills but would suggest that all these all rounders are as high in the order as they want already. Still need to have proper batsmen at the top . And they won't find them unless they try .

Woakes , Broad and Leach are all unlucky not to be playing today. As was Bairstow in that second match in Sri Lanka.(especially as he lost his spot through an ill-timed injury). Probably preferable to scratching about for eleven decent players...

West Indies apparently using an unchanged ODI squad for the T20s....

Strong possibility that the 2nd and 3rd Twenty20 internationals could be on Free To Air Platforms in the UK, as Sky refuse to pay $1 Million USD per match for exclusive rights. The TV rights deal was made before an extra two T20 international matches were added to the schedule.

Guardian
The final two matches of the tour in St Kitts are now expected to be shown by Sky in the UK. The broadcaster had agreed a deal for the whole tour before two extra T20 internationals were added at a later date. West Indies Cricket is still holding out for some kind of extra payment from Sky for the fixtures being played at Warner Park in Basseterre on Friday and Sunday. But it is understood that after pressure from sponsors, it has dropped its demand for a fee of £1m for each match.

Sky have told their team in the Caribbean to travel to St Kitts as normal and although no final agreement has been reached, it appears almost certain the matches will now be screened in the UK.

Pooran in for Campbell, Allen in for Bishoo.

I can't make head or tail of the England side. Is Buttler not considered to be a t20s player?

No, it's Malan out. Sounded like he was being presented to the press because he was going to play.

I'm relieved that Buttler won't be tormenting the west indies bowlers.
