Much needed lead of 2-0 with 3 matches to go after having lost the T20i series. Rayudu seems to be the preferred number 4 for the WC. Shankar has been contributing quite well in whatever chances he has got. Shami too has improved his chances for being in playing 11 in WC. Rohit & Shikhar need to find form; both have been below par in last few matches given their experience and abilities.

OZ win, but considering they were 180-0 after 30 overs they really should have got a lot more than 313

2-2. Turner with the fireworks at the end. Handscomb and Khwaja with a very handy stabilizing innings.

With Starc to return and possibly Warner, is this Australian team positioning themselves for WC number 6 :rasta :rasta

No point being the top ranked team before the world cup

His reaction after the not out verdict on their UDRS referral of Turner looked quite poor.

As well as looking like he was talking very angrily to the ump, it looked like he actually laid a hand on the ump's chest at the same time.

Well this tour has gone much better than expected. Winning both the T20 and ODI series after coming back from 2-0, Australia might just be building well for the WC. Still games to come against Pakistan as well. I would have said Australia stood no chance this year but it seems they might offer a better defense of their title then many expected.

India though, this was not expected at all. Some problems in the middle order, over reliant on a couple of batsman. A bad series does not mean the end of the world for them and better now then in the world cup. Still they don't have many games to fix the problems.

Khawaja doing well.

Got to question how well the Aussie batters will do in England, but the pitches will be flat and the ball won't swing. And Warner and Smith will be back.

Thought the Indian spinners would be far too good for the Aussies.

If theres no swing, then i would expect the Aussie bats to be fine.

Zampa and Cummins have also had a great series.

Is there room for Starc to come back in? Warner i could see but i dont see room for Smith at present.

Richardson isn't all that good is he? He looked ordinary in England last year.

But the whole attack was struggling then.

I think Richardson could become very useful. Still young but I'm not sure he will get much game time in England if Starc is fully fit. He had a productive series if a bit uneconomical at times.

Cummins is potentially turning into something very special. The stand out quick bowler in this series. Zampa is also rewarding the selectors for sticking with him. I'm not sure he will be as useful in England though.

Khawaja being top scorer for the series is very impressive and Handscomb having the series he did was very unexpected. Before this series i would have thought neither would make the final 11 in England. And maybe if the pitches are flat, they wont.

But still there is the Maxwell conundrum for Australia. Where does he fit in? He could win you the world cup, or just end up doing nothing. Feels like a poor mans Andrew Symonds in this team. With Turner also performing I wonder where he will fit in?

But this was a huge series for this Australian team, and it does give us supporters hope in England this year.

Aussies have played some wonderful cricket to beat India without Warner, Smith and Starc. This win is mor eimpressive as they were trailing by 0-2. Morevover, they had Peter and Ashton who has no LOI experience in Indian conditions. Even the conditions are very different to what they get in Australia. So a big win fighting against all odds.
